Deutsche Telekom lowers dividend on spectrum costs, sees higher FY EBITDA

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom has increased its outlook for full-year EBITDA, after improved results across its business in the first nine months of the year. However, the company cut its planned dividend for the year, to 60 cents from 70 cents last year, citing the costs of the pending merger with Sprint and spectrum auctions.

GSMA warns against European restrictions on 5G mmWave spectrum

(Telecompaper) The GSMA has warned of a showdown between the US and EU at the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference in Egypt. The ITU conference which occurs every four years will take key decisions on the frequencies designated for 5G development. The mobile industry group is concerned that Europe is taking too restrictive a stance on mmWave spectrum due to concerns about interference with existing applications and called on the region to take a more liberal approach, as the Americas have decided.
