Summary A rare opportunity for an experienced system software engineer to work for Telespazio VEGA onsite at ESTEC within concurrent engineering. Objective To support the deployment and exploitation and continuous evolution of the Open Concurrent Design Tool OCDT and its various applications. Responsibilities Duties The Engineer will be integrated in the CDF team and will be required to perform the following tasks Direct participation in CDF studies and activities, covering the role of System Engineer andor System of Systems Architect, associated to functions of Software Engineer see below, thus coordinating design and architecture sessions with specialists of other engineering disciplines. Support the evolution of the CDF infrastructure through prototyping and evaluation of CDF model architecture related applications, Support the evolution of the CDF infrastructure through the development of new CDF Models. This includes assistance to the various specialists in creating new discipline Workbooks, tools and databases and participating in joint design sessions. Support the enhancement of the CDF infrastructure through the design, development, implementation and maintenance of specific databases, incl. testing and reviewing the fully integrated CDF database model template. Provide support to the evolution of the Open Concurrent Design Tool OCDT product in particular in terms of deploying, exploiting and maintaining such a product for internal and external Space Community utilisation Provide System Engineering functional support to ESA projects, which encompasses interface with the project team and the industrial team, participation in progress meetings and reviews, as requested by project work, and providing appropriate feedback about achieved progress and results. Provide support to the Directorates activities as requested within the field of competence. In the fulfilment of hisher duties heshe will be supported by specialists and will work in close cooperation with DTEC engineers, ESA trainees, external experts and industrial teams. Qualifications Experience MSc or equivalent in a relevant discipline Expert knowledge of SC system and mission design Intermediate knowledge of ITSW development, preferably AeroSpace related, incl. system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design Knowledge of System of Systems SoS architecting and related tools such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc. and frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF System Engineer with experience in Software Engineering practices and standardisation Relevant practical experience in space system engineering, mission design, feasibility studies and related modelling tools. Objective To support the Head of the Tertiary Education Unit, for the coordination of education satellite projects throughout all phases of their lifecycle. Responsibilities Duties Satellite System Engineer in the Systems and Cost Engineering Division with first affectation to the Tertiary Education Unit of the ESA Education and Knowledge Management Office. The postholder will report to the Head of the Tertiary Education Unit, and will support him for the coordination of education satellite projects throughout all phases of their lifecycle. The current education satellite projects include the European Student Earth Orbiter ESEO and CubeSats.
