Reuters: The New York attorney general has launched an investigation into whether Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) misled the public and shareholders about the risks of climate change. According to people with knowledge of the investigation, Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman issued a subpoena Wednesday evening to Exxon Mobil, demanding extensive financial records, emails and other documents. The focus includes the company's activities dating to the late 1970s, including a period of at least a decade when Exxon Mobil funded groups that sought to undermine climate science.

The Federal Communications Commission announced an investigation into a California firm after a Reuters report revealed that its radio broadcasts are backed by the Chinese government. The firm is owned by James Su, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Shanghai, but his company, G&E Studio Inc, "is 60 percent owned by a subsidiary of Chinese state-run radio broadcaster China Radio International," Reuters reported.

At 9:30 a.m., a public works employee working in the area of Cerritos Avenue and Valley View Street noticed oil coming from the eastbound lanes on Cerritos Avenue, spokeswoman Anna Sanchez said. The All American Pipeline Company and Chevron have petroleum pipes under where the ground where the oil was found.
