A new study examining the economic impact of the four member companies of the Global Express Association DHL Express, FedEx Corp., TNT and United Parcel Service estimates they "facilitated" some three million jobs worldwide in 2013, representing 0.19% of global gross domestic product or over $140 billion in economic activity. "Our results are based on GEA member data only and should therefore be viewed as a conservative estimate of the overall footprint of the express delivery industry," the trade group said.

According to the report, titled "Economic Impact of the Permian Basin's Oil and Gas Industry," the oil and gas business has created and sustained more than 546,000 jobs and produced an economic output of about $137.8 billion.
