T-Mobile USA's GoSmart Mobile launches voice and data plans

(Telecompaper) T-Mobile USA's new brand, GoSmart Mobile, has launched a nationwide mobile voice and data service with no annual contract, DUM caps, overages, hidden fees and roaming charges. Plans start at USD 30 a month. Customers can buy a USD 8 Sim kit for their current phone or buy a GoSmart device starting at under USD 100. The service is sold online and at thousands of dealers nationwide. For USD 30 a month, customers get unlimited talk and text. For USD 35 they have unlimited talk, text and 2G web, and for USD 45 they get up to 5GB of 3G web before being switched to 2G. GoSmart customers can add unlimited international texting to more than 200 countries for USD 5 a month, or unlimited international texting to more than 200 countries and unlimited landline calling to 50 countries for USD 10 a month. GoSmart cites an IDC forecast that no-contract customers will grow by 7.4 percent a year to 2016 from 80 million in 2013.
