Ebola buster booster vaccine starts first trials in Oxford

Scientists at Oxford University have launched the first clinical tests of a new Ebola vaccine approach, using a booster developed by Denmark's Bavarian Nordic that may improve the effects of a shot from GlaxoSmithKline. Thirty healthy volunteers in Britain who have already received the experimental Ebola vaccine being developed by GSK and the US National Institutes of Health will get the booster shot, researchers said on Thursday.

CytRx Corporation , a biopharmaceutical research and development company specializing in oncology, today announced that the Company has received notice from the United States Food and Drug Administration that its clinical trials for aldoxorubicin have been placed on partial clinical hold. All currently enrolled patients can continue receiving aldoxorubicin treatment, or comparator drugs, as per study protocols, but no new patients can be enrolled until the clinical hold is lifted.
