CNN: TransCanada plans to reopen the Keystone pipeline on Saturday, a week after a spill was discovered in an underground section of the pipeline in South Dakota. After days of searching for the source of the spill, TransCanada announced on Friday it had identified a "small leak" on the pipeline near the Freeman pump station in Hutchinson County. TransCanada has informed its customers that the Keystone pipeline will remain closed until early next week rather than reopen by the end of this week as previously expected. The Calgary-based company's crews have dug up some of the soil surrounding a segment of the pipeline in southeastern South Dakota, about 60 kilometres southwest of Sioux Falls, but the source of the leaked oil hasn't been pinpointed.

TransCanada has shut down its Keystone pipeline while it investigates an oil spill in South Dakota, the company said Monday. Mark Cooper, a spokesman for TransCanada, said a local landowner noticed signs of an oil spill around noon local time Saturday and informed the company.
