Environmental Services has completed work on two inner southeast Portland sewer projects to increase sewer capacity and reduce the potential for basement backups. One project replaced sewer pipes that were in poor condition on SE 2nd and 3rd avenues between Alder and Stark and restored the intersection of SE 3rd and Alder.

NE Columbia Blvd and NE 63rd Ave Sewer and Stormwater Project Email Update: May 13, 2014

Environmental Services is designing a project to install a stormwater infiltration system along NE Columbia Boulevard between NE 60th and NE 63rd avenues. The system will filter sediment and pollutants from stormwater runoff discharged through an outfall pipe into the Columbia Slough. The project will help restore fish and wildlife habitat, improve water quality and protect public health. The work includes replacing 160 feet of public sewer pipe.

Ascension takes another step toward regional sewer service

Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez signed a $2.4 million contract Monday to hire GSA Consulting Engineers, of Gonzales, to oversee the design of a regional parish sewer system and have it ready for construction late this year.
