Crews on scene after sewer line overflows on Dorchester Road

Crews are on the scene of an overflowed sewer line at the intersection of Dorchester Road and Wescott Boulevard and say it could be several hours to repair. A breach in a sanitary sewer line caused raw sewage to enter the storm drain system and ditches at Wescott Boulevard and Avana at Wescott Plantation and the retention ponds near Harris Teeter and Fort Dorchester Elementary School, according to the Dorchester County Water and Sewer Department.

Clinton Green Street and Sewer Construction Update: April 23, 2015

As part of the Tabor to the River Program, Environmental Services continues construction on the Clinton Green Street and Sewer Project. This project will replace 3,800 feet of sewer pipe installed over 100 years ago, construct 24 green street planters and add two blocks of pervious paving. These improvements will protect public health, property and the environment, and reduce the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.

SE 20th and Haig Sewer Construction Update: April 16, 2015

Environmental Services has started construction on a project to replace aging sewer pipes on SE 20th Avenue from SE Lafayette to Haig streets, and on SE Haig Street from SE 20th to 18th avenues. The pipes are over 100 years old and in poor condition. The project will protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
