SE 45th/46th and Sherman Sewer Repair Project Update: October 30, 2015

Environmental Services has started work on a project to replace and upsize about 700 feet of public sewer pipes on SE 45th and SE 46th avenues between SE Sherman and SE Division streets. The sewers are 103 years old and deteriorating due to age. Several pipes have holes and roots in them. The work also includes adding 320 feet of pipe on SE Ivon Street between SE 41st and SE 42nd avenues.

South Irvington Sewer Extension Project Update: October 30, 2015

Environmental Services is constructing 1,060 feet of public sewer pipe and 460 feet of sewer laterals that will provide 17 properties direct and independent connections to the public sewer. This work is part of the City of Portlands effort to provide residents with sewer connections that comply with city code.

Sellwood-Moreland Sewer Rehab Project Construction Update: October 27, 2015

Environmental Services is repairing or replacing about 25,000 feet of public sewer pipes in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood that are between 80 and 100 years old and failing due to age. This project will help protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.

GI's Sewer Project Goes Under Interstate to Reach Businesses

Interstate 80 traffic rolls by the Highway 281 interchange at Grand Island, and nearby crews work on connecting the hotels and gas stations there to city sewer lines. "Currently these folks have their own wastewater treatment plants, kind of package plants, so we are hooking them up to the City of Grand Island public sewer system which is in really great standing with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality," says Tara Bevard, Project Manager for the City.
