SE 45th/46th and Sherman Sewer Repair Project Update: September 4, 2015

Environmental Services has started work on a project to replace and upsize about 700 feet of public sewer pipes on SE 45th and SE 46th avenues between SE Sherman and SE Division streets. The sewers are 103 years old and deteriorating due to age. Several pipes have holes and roots in them. The work also includes adding 320 feet of pipe on SE Ivon Street between SE 41st and SE 42nd avenues.

Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Repair Project Update: September 1, 2015

Environmental Services plans to begin construction this winter on a project to replace and repair 4,508 feet of aging sewer pipe. The work will include constructing 22 green street planters and planting trees to absorb rain and reduce stormwater runoff. The project will keep about 1.6 million gallons of stormwater out of sewers annually, increase sewer system capacity and reduce basement backups.

Balch Conduit Support Sewer Replacement Project Update: September 3, 2015

Environmental Services contractor is constructing a project that will replace sewer pipes in poor condition and relieve street flooding and basement sewer backups in the area bounded by NW Yeon Avenue, NW 29th Avenue, NW Nicolai Avenue, and NW St. Helens Road. The project includes diverting stormwater to the Balch Conduit sewer pipe, and replacing dams in the Balch Outfall pipe to prevent Willamette River water from backing up into the pipe during heavy rain events.

Sellwood-Moreland Sewer Rehab Project Construction Update: August 28, 2015

Environmental Services is repairing or replacing about 25,000 feet of public sewer pipes in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood that are between 80 and 100 years old and failing due to age. This project will help protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
