Xcel Energy wants size limits on its Minnesota community solar gardens

Community solar gardens proposed for Xcel Energy are considerably larger than this one at Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association's headquarters in Rockford. Xcel wants to scale back its program but says it still would be one of the nation's largest.

Kirsten Sebek and Jason Bartschy, both with Fifth Third Bank, paint boards that will be used to build raised beds for a community garden. Fifth Third Bank is helping to build a large garden at the Sofia Quintero Arts & Cultural Center that will provide 10,000 pounds of food a year in Toledo.

A large iron sculpture by Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei that's designed to prompt thoughts about how different people and cultures come together is being dedicated at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park just outside of Grand Rapids. Made of 99 iron pieces, the sculpture looks like a tree without leaves, but oversize stainless steel bolts that hold it together give it a mechanical appearance.

A large iron sculpture by Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei that's designed to prompt thoughts about how different people and cultures come together has been acquired by Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in western Michigan, the organization announced Wednesday. Made of 99 iron pieces, the reddish sculpture called "Iron Tree" looks like a tree without leaves, but oversize stainless steel bolts that hold it together give it a mechanical, somewhat awkward appearance.
