There's a new internet-crippling zero-vulnerability in town called Shellshock. It potentially affects around half of all websites on the internet (around 500 million), and millions or billions more internet-connected devices such as routers, smartphones. In simple terms, this means that it's now relatively simple for anyone to gain unauthorized access to a large portion of the world's computers.
New Amazon.com office to be warmed by Internet, recycling Seattle data centre cooling water

Heated water from the cooling system at a data centre in another downtown building will be piped through Amazon offices and then recycled. The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reports the system is being constructed by Eco District LLC, a partnership of Clise Properties, which owns the building with the data centre, and mechanical contractor McKinstry, which is designing the water heat transfer system.

Tom Wheeler, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, has proposed new rules that would allow companies to pay Internet service providers for faster lanes to send video and other content to their customers. It’s a wonky question that has nonetheless inspired widespread online protests and a record-breaking deluge of public comments since the Federal Communications Commission announced earlier this year a proposal allowing service providers to charge for priority access, rather than treating all online content equally.
