Kasalis, a Burlington-based industrial technology firm, has been acquired by publicly-traded electronic products firm Jabil Circuit Inc. , headquartered in Florida. The Kasalis office in Burlington will remain open and be expanded as part of the acquisition, growing headcount from 27 to about 40 within the next few months, said Irvin Stein , senior global business units director of Jabil Optics, the division of Jabil that Kasalis will now fall under.

Dollar General posted increases in earnings and sales, including apparel, Burlington Stores has raised its full-year guidance after returning to profit, and PVH Corp revealed results that beat its expectations, upping its full-year guidance. However, Destination Maternity lowered its full-year outlook after swinging to a loss, and Guess saw both earnings and sales fall in the quarter.

Teen accused of setting clothes racks on fire at Burlington Coat Factory

A 14-year-old boy is accused of lighting racks of clothes on fire inside Burlington Coat Factory in the Chapel Hill plaza, destroying 57 pieces of clothing worth $1,067 . The boy, a student at Akron Digital Academy, was arrested Friday on suspicion of arson and was taken to the Summit County Detention Center.
