The EPA certified the 2016 Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell sedan with a 312-mile driving range and 67 miles per gallon equivalent fuel economy both in the city and on the highway. In U.S. District Court for Northern District of Alabama, EPA and U.S. Department of Justice today lodged proposed modification of prior 2006 consent decree with Alabama Power Company. This will secure further reductions of harmful air pollutants, primarily sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx), from 3 of said company's coal-fired power plants. Proposed modifications would resolve remaining claims of violations of Clean Air Act's New Source Review program.
