Comcast cable video subscribers down 273,000 in 3Q 2020

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) has reported results for the quarter ended September 30, 2020. Total video customer net losses were 273,000. NBCUniversal's recently launched Peacock has 22 million sign-ups to date.

MTN Nigeria revenue rises 14% in first nine months, adds nearly 4 mln mobile subscribers

(Telecompaper) MTN Nigeria's revenue increased by 13.9 percent year-on-year to NGN 975.67 billion for the nine months to 30 September from NGN 856.55 billion in the same period of 2019. Service revenue increased by 13.9 percent to NGN 973.81 billion from NGN 854.94 billion in 2019. Mobile subscribers increased by 3.9 million to 75.0 million and active data users increased by 1.7 million to 30.7 million.

Netflix loses subscribers in Sweden

During the past year, Swedish households have purchased an additional 700,000 SVOD subscriptions, according to Mediavision. Paid video services reached a new record level in Q3 2020. Netflix, however, lost subscribers.

China Mobile tops 114 million 5G subscribers in September

(Telecompaper) China Mobile ended September with 946 million mobile customers. Of these, 770 million were 4G customers and 114 million were 5G package users, the company also said. China Mobile's profit slightly declined by 0.3 percent year-on-year to CNY 81.6 billion for the first three quarters of 2020. Margin of profit attributable to equity shareholders was 14.2 percent. EBITDA also fell 3.8 percent year-on-year to CNY 216.9 billion.

Peacock attracts most new VoD subscribers in Q3 - Kantar

(Telecompaper) NBC's new Peacock service attracted the most new video-on-demand subscribers in the third quarter, according to the latest study from Kantar. The VoD service, which launched nationwide during the summer, brought in over 17 percent of new subscribers, following by Amazon Prime Video, which fell back to second place with 16 percent, down from 23 percent in the previous quarter.
