Spotify forecasts at least 30% growth in subscribers in 2018

(Telecompaper) Spotify has released a financial outlook for Q1 and 2018, ahead of its listing on the stock market in early April. The company expects to grow both monthly active users and premium subscribers by around 30 percent in 2018.

According to figures submitted to TRAI, active satellite pay TV subscriptions in India reached 67.56 million at the end of December 2017, up 0.57 million versus the end of the previous quarter, and up 4.91 million year-on-year.

Eastern Europe digital pay TV subscribers to grow 27% between 2017 and 2023

The number of digital pay TV subscribers in Eastern Europe will increase from 25.49 million in 2010 to 61.57 million in 2017 and onto 78.08 million by 2023, according to a new Digital TV Research report.

Pay TV subscribers at major US providers down ~1,495,000 in 2017

Leichtman Research Group (LRG) has found that the largest pay-TV providers in the US lost about 1,495,000 net video subscribers in 2017, compared to a pro forma loss of about 760,000 subscribers in 2016.

MTN Group reports organic revenue growth of 6.8% for 2017, despite drop in subscribers

(Telecompaper) MTN Group said its revenue increased by 6.8 percent on an organic basis to ZAR 132.8 billion in 2017. Underlying service revenue rose by 7.2 percent to ZAR 124.41 billion, thanks to a recovery in Nigeria. Outgoing voice revenue remained largely flat, which it said was a positive re-enforcement of its work to stem the decline in the voice contribution, particularly in Nigeria, where outgoing voice revenue went up by 7.5 percent.
