The deal advances a turnaround plan under Chief Executive Officer Michael Clarke, brought in last year to rethink the company's growth strategy after a disastrous foray into the U.S. saw it destroy thousands of cases of unsold low-end wine.

Grain handler G3 Canada Ltd., a joint venture between a Saudi Arabian firm and Bunge Ltd., does not have much interest in bidding for a stake in rival Glencore Plc's agricultural business, its chief executive said on Tuesday. Swiss-based Glencore, the trader and miner whose shares have been battered by the commodities slump, is looking to sell a stake in its global grain business to cut about a third of its $30 billion in debt and regain investor trust.

Wilmerding-based rail industry supplier Wabtec Corp. has acquired the assets of Track IQ, an Australian manufacturer of wayside sensor systems for the global train industry with annual sales of about $15 million. Office supplies retailer Staples Inc. has agreed with the Federal Trade Commission to extend the review period for its $6.3 billion takeover of Office Depot Inc. The regulator will decide on the deal by Dec. 8, the companies said.
