ZTE lifts revenues, profit in strong #H1

(Telecompaper) After a lower first quarter, ZTE reported a strong first half, with operating revenues lifting 5.8 percent from the year before to CNY 47.20 billion and the net profit increasing 26.3 percent to CNY 1.86 billion. The net profit after extraordinary items jumped 47.4 percent to CNY 0.9 billion. The operating cash flow grew over 61 percent to CNY 2.04 billion while spend on research and development (R&D) advanced to CNY 6.64 billion, driven by investments into 5G and covering 14.1 percent of the company's operating revenue.

Salt sees revenues, EBITDA decline in Q2, adds 7,600 postpaid mobile customers

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Salt said total revenues declined by 3.8 percent year-on-year in Q2 2020 to CHF 244.8 million from CHF 254.5 million in the same period the prior year. On a like-for-like basis, operating revenue excluding incoming revenue was down 4.5 percent in Q2. The Covid-19 pandemic hit roaming revenues in particular, which offset the positive underlying performance of the company's core business.

Sunrise lifts revenues, postpaid customers in Q2

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Sunrise said its revenues increased by 0.3 percent year-on-year in Q2 2020 to CHF 456 million despite the impact of the pandemic. Service revenue fell by 0.6 percent to CHF 381 million, led by a 6.3 percent fall in landline service revenues to CHF 70 million. Mobile service revenues rose by 0.8 percent to CHF 305 million.

MTS revenues lift 1% in Q2, OIBDA under pressure from pandemic effects

(Telecompaper) Russian and CIS operator MTS reported revenues of RUB 117.7 billion in the second quarter, up by 1.3 percent year-on-year and slowing from 9 percent growth in the first quarter. Revenues for Russia alone went 0.8 percent higher to RUB 116.3 billion. Top-line growth saw significant positive contributions from both MTS Bank and core telecom services, offset by negative effects from the Covid-19 pandemic and related restrictions, the company said.

Belgian mobile service revenues fall nearly 8% in Q2 as Covid restrictions hit roaming income

(Telecompaper) The Belgian mobile market slowed significantly in the second quarter, after the country was put on lockdown to stem the spread of the coronavirus. Mobile service revenues fell 7.8 percent year-on-year to EUR 646 million, accelerating from an annual drop of just 1.2 percent in Q1 2020, research by Telecompaper shows.
