Masmovil FY revenues hit EUR 1.7 bln after adding 1.4 mln subs in 2019

(Telecompaper) Spanish telecommunications provider Masmovil, the country's fourth largest network operator, reported net revenues of EUR 1.68 billion for 2019, up 16 percent year on year, and service revenues of EUR 1.46 billion, up 24 percent, after adding some 1.4 million mobile and fibre customers over the period. Adjusted EBITDA was up 42 percent year on year to EUR 468 million, with the company's EBITDA margin rising 5 percentage points to 28 percent. Full-year profit climbed 32 percent on a reported basis to EUR 93 million, impacted by EUR 108 million non-cash financial expenses related to a convertible bond acquisition in Q2 and a EUR 144 million capital gain derived from the sale of 1 million residential fibre units to Macquarie in Q4.
Baidu's Q4 revenues grow 6%, forecasts 5-13 percent fall in Q1

(Telecompaper) Baidu posted total revenues of CNY 28.9 billion (USD 4.15 billion) for the fourth quarter of 2019, an increase of 6 percent year-on-year in line with its revised guidance. The internet services company forecast a fall in first-quarter revenues on an annual basis and said visibility on the impact of the coronavirus outbreak remains limited.

Sunrise records revenues growth in Q4, EBITDA hit by failed UPC takeover

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Sunrise said that its revenues increased by 5.2 percent year-on-year in Q4 2019 to CHF 511 million, including IFRS 16 standards. Service revenues increased by 5.2 percent too during the period to CHF 400 million as result of mobile postpaid, internet, TV and B2B revenue growth. Mobile service revenues grew 2.7 percent year-on-year in Q4 to CHF 342 million, fixed line service revenues rose by 10.7 percent to CHF 89 million and fixed line internet revenues by 10.4 percent to CHF 80 million.

North American pay TV revenues to fall by $50 billion

Pay TV revenues in Canada and the US peaked in 2015 at $112bn. Digital TV Research forecasts that revenues will fall by $50bn to $62bn in 2025. Cable revenues will decline by $22bn. Satellite TV will fall by $21bn and IPTV will drop by $7bn.
