Cellnex revenues up 15% to over EUR 1 bln in 2019, narrows net loss

(Telecompaper) Spanish operator Cellnex Telecom, Europe's largest mobile towers company, reported full-year revenues of EUR 1.035 billion in 2019, up 15 percent on the year-earlier result of EUR 901 million, completing its fifth straight year of double-digit growth. The company's EBITDA rose 16 percent to EUR 686 million and it reduced its net loss for the 12-month period to EUR 9 million from EUR 15 million the year before despite higher amortisations and financial costs associated with the growth of the group and the expansion of its geographical footprint.

(Telecompaper) Apple said slower production due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) means it will not be able to meet expectations for the fiscal second quarter to end March. The company had guided for revenue of USD 63-97 billion from 58 billion the year before, and a gross margin of 38-39 percent. The company noted that the disruption to results is only temporary and that its business is fundamentally strong.

Spotify beats outlook again for subscriber growth, Q4 revenues grow 24%

(Telecompaper) Spotify reported 271 million monthly active users at the end of 2019, up 31 percent over the year and better than the group's forecast. With MAU growth accelerating the past three quarters and strong take-up of its expanding podcast offer, the company said it's confident in its future growth prospects. However, it will continue to invest in 2020 and forecast a bigger operating loss for the year.

MENA SVOD revenues to triple

According to Digital TV Research, MENA SVOD revenues will reach $2.97 billion by 2025, tripling between 2019 and 2025. Turkey will grow to $908 million by 2025, with Saudi Arabia adding $563 million and Israel $470 million.

No growth expected for MENA pay TV revenues

According to Digital TV Research, pay TV revenues in the Middle East and North Africa region fell by 12% between 2016 and 2019. Given the hangover from the beIN ban and generally falling ARPUs, revenues in 2025 will still be lower than in 2019.
