KT drops bid for Maroc Telecom

(Telecompaper) Korea's KT said it has withdrawn from the bidding to acquire Vivendi's stake in Maroc Telecom. The operator said it did not rule out cooperating with the company in future and would review the situation at a later date. According to the latest press reports, bids for the stake are due at the end of this month. Other operators that have expressed interest include Etisalat, Ooredeoo and MTN.
Kosovo's PTK attracts bid of EUR 277 million

(Telecompaper) A German-US consortium, in partnership with BT Group from the UK, has submitted a EUR 227 million bid for 75 percent of the Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo (PTK). The consortium consists of ACP Axos Capital (Germany) and Najafi (US). Economy Minister Besim Beqaj told AFP that the bid is twice that submitted by M1 International from Lebanon. The Kosovo government could reach a decision within a week on the buyer, while at the same time retaining a 25 percent stake in the operator. PTK has over one million mobile users and around 100,000 fixed telephony connections.
