Philip Meeson, chairman and chief executive of Jet2 and Jet2holidays parent company Dart Group, said: "In this age of political and economic uncertainty more consumers are becoming aware of the wider benefits of a package holiday - where the tour operator has the responsibility for their wellbeing."

If China and Bangladesh have not been able to offset the fall of the euro, other low-cost origins have limited its impact thanks to a fall in their US$ prices. As usual, average prices are hiding sharp differences when considering the different categories of products.
