It's being led by the Mid-West Energy Research Consortium , founded in 2009 by three universities and four industrial companies as the Southeast Wisconsin Energy Technology Research Consortium "with the mission of conducting collaborative and transformative energy-related seed research." Its WERCBench Labs program is slated to take place June 8 to August 27 at M-WERC's headquarters at 27th and Capitol.

UW receives $1 million grant for oil and gas research

The money provided by Houston-based Baker Hughes Inc. will be used over a three-year period by the UW School of Energy Resources. In 2012, Baker Hughes donated $500,000 toward construction on UW's High Bay Research Facility, said Mark Northam, School of Energy Resources director.

RUTLAND >> Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging is proud to announce it has received a $700 grant from Meals on Wheels America for its participation in Subaru of America's seventh annual "Share the Love" event. During the event held from Nov. 20 through Jan. 2, Subaru of America, Inc. donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of participating charities, including Meals on Wheels America, of which Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging is a member.

Inver Hills Community College receives $25,000 grant to support veterans

Inver Hills Community College Foundation recently received a $25,000 grant from UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corporation, to fund scholarships for veterans and their family members pursuing STEM education at IHCC. The grant will be distributed over four years and will fund several scholarships per year under the UTC Aerospace Systems Veterans Scholarship program.
