Amazons first smartphone leaked, has 3D display powered by multiple cameras
2014-04-15 23:03:41| Extremetech
These days, the majority of smartphones are good, but a dime a dozen -- the floor for a quality phone is higher, but the ceiling has plateaued. The only truly gigantic differences between competing phones nowadays are brand loyalty, display size, and operating system (or how much bloat is plastered on top of the same operating system). Regardless of this, Amazon is rumored to think that it can break into the market and make a splash with its own smartphone, and now, some leaked pictures of the device might just corroborate the company's mentality.

2014-03-26 19:26:08| InfoWorld: Top News
Amazon Web Services' hosted virtual desktops have become generally available, priced from $35, but the company and its competitors have a lot of hurdles to overcome before this sort of technology is widely used by businesses. The desktop-as-a-service market has become interesting. Before Amazon's Wednesday announcement on its WorkSpaces service, VMware earlier this month launched its Horizon DaaS, based on the company's acquisition of Desktone.

Amazons game controller emerges: Now wheres the game console itself?
2014-03-14 18:42:28| Extremetech
Thanks to some leaked images from the Brazilian equivalent of the FCC, it appears that Amazon's long-awaited set-top box/game console is finally coming to market. The leaked images show a gamepad that is strongly reminiscent of the Xbox 360 gamepad, with some additional buttons in the middle, and some media playback buttons on the bottom edge. The buttons in the middle of the controller all but confirm that Amazon's new game console/media streamer/ will run Android, too.
