Tennessee Pork Producers Association Meeting and Trade Show January 22-23

Tennessee pork producers are encouraged to attend the Tennessee Pork Producers Association annual meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. At 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 22, Lou Nave, Executive Director of the Farm Animal Care Coalition of Tennessee (FACCT) will update the group on current FACCT activities at the state level. Annual meeting attendees will then have a chance to vote on plans for the upcoming year and will review Pork Checkoff activities and programs. The Taste of Elegance Chef's Compeition will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Also as part of the activities, the Tennessee Junior Market Hog Show will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Tennessee Livestock Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University. The pork industry trade show will take place at the same time, with activities commencing at 8:00 a.m. (CST). The pork industry headlines can be daunting at times. There may be moments when the stories about consumers being bombarded with misleading and inaccurate messages regarding how their food is produced can be overwhelming. Its a good thing that pork producers have a long history of working together toward common goals of improving production, increasing demand through promotion, and delivering accurate information to their customers.
