DuPont will pay a fine of $1.275 million and spend an estimated $2.3 million more to settle claims by U.S. officials that the global chemical conglomerate failed to prevent toxic releases of hazardous substances in West Virginia that killed at least one man, environmental regulators said on Wednesday.

SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus fined for illegal handset subsidies

(Telecompaper) The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) fined SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus a combined KRW 58.4 billion for providing illegal handset subsidies, The Korea Times reports. The KCC says it "found the three violated regulations on subsidies". The KCC investigation showed that the operators' subsidies averaged 621,000 won per subscriber. KCC limits the amount of subsidies to KRW 270,000.
