German Internet exchange operator DE-CIX has upgraded its flagship Apollon Internet exchange in Frankfurt with a new 7950 XRS-40 routing systems from Alcatel-Lucent . It is the first deployment of the XRS-40 outside of North America, according to Basil Alwan, president of Alcatel-Lucent's IP Routing and Transport division.
