(Telecompaper) The US has announced a new cyber task force to counter online propaganda, Reuters reported, saying the move is part of the government's push to crack down on the use of the internet by jihadists. White House chief of staff Denis McDonough led a high-level government delegation that held talks with representatives from some of the country's biggest technology companies, including Apple CEO Tim Cook. Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. said Tuesday its board of directors has determined that a revised unsolicited acquisition bid from China Resources Microelectronics Ltd. and Hua Capital Management Co. Ltd. is superior to the buyout offer it previously accepted from ON Semiconductor Corp. Fairchild said it remains subject to the merger agreement with ON Semi.
