Thin Film Chip Resistor Arrays are optimized for stability.
2013-08-30 14:30:58| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Serving applications that require stable fixed resistance ratios, ACAS 0612 offers tight absolute TCR down to ± 10 ppm/K, relative TCR down to ±5 ppm/K, and relative tolerance down to ±0.05%. Array features 4 matched resistors in one package with absolute tolerance of ±0.1% and 75 V operating voltage. Resistance values range from 47 Ω to 221 kΩ in 2 pairs or 4 equal resistor values, and each resistance element is rated to 0.1 W dissipation up to maximum of 0.3 W per package. Oracle software will run faster with new Sparc M6 chip
2013-08-28 13:54:15| InfoWorld: Top News
Oracle's database and high-performance workloads will run faster with the company's latest Sparc M6 chip, which has been tuned specially for the company's applications. The latest Sparc processor has 12 processor cores, effectively doubling the number of cores than its predecessor, M5, which shipped earlier this year. Each M6 core will be able to run 8 threads simultaneously, giving the chip the ability to run 96 threads simultaneously, said Ali Vahidsafa , senior hardware engineer at Oracle, during a presentation about M6 at the Hot Chips conference in Stanford, California.

Lapsing of Moore's Law opens up opportunity in chip design
2013-08-27 22:25:03| InfoWorld: Top News
As the trend famously codified by Intel co-founder Gordon Moore -- that the number of transistors on an integrated circuit would double every two years -- seems to be flagging, one top engineer suggests that it is time to rethink chip design to buy performance increases.
