Tasks The successful candidates will initially work in the areas of Earth Observation Mission Support as well as Test and Validation Support. The detailed planning depends on the evolution of the different mission schedules. The engineers will support the flight dynamics operations in the following activities Prelaunch Development Studies for the operational FD software Mission Planning Support Orbit Determination Trajectory Optimisation ACS Command Generation ACS Calibration Auxiliary Data and Experimenters Support Operational Support Studies and Mission Analysis Critical Mission Planning Support Orbit Determination Trajectory Optimisation Routine Mission Planning Support AOCS Command Generation Actuators and Control Systems Calibration Attitude Determination and OB Systems Monitoring and Verification Optical Sensors Calibration Auxiliary Data Generation Test, Simulations and Training Evaluation and Reporting Essential Requirements University degree with high grades in engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent Sound knowledge of Flight Dynamics, orbit and attitude dynamics Good understanding of celestial mechanics, spacecraft flight dynamics and sw programming Experience with Flight Dynamics software tools and procedures Experience with SUNSolaris, FORTRAN, C, MATLAB and UNIX operating system Desirable Skills Familiarity with Flight Dynamics operations operational experience would be an advantage.
