An oil company is seeking to use tanker trucks to haul oil through Santa Barbara County while the pipeline that spilled crude into the ocean last month is out of commission. How do you move thousands of gallons of crude a day with a key oil pipeline out of commission indefinitely? Exxon Mobil officials are seeking permission to truck the oil through Santa Barbara County after a ruptured pipeline sent oil spilling into the Pacific Ocean and brought the company's oil transportation operations to a halt. 2015-06-03 21:38:42| Chemicals - Topix.net
Legislators looking into the controversial settlement between the state and Exxon Mobil said their weeks-long quest for more information on the deal has confirmed their initial reaction and they are confident that weeks of digging through boxes of documents has built a strong case to make for a judge to reject the agreement. On Wednesday, two days before the deadline to submit public comments to the judge considering the $225 million settlement, the Assembly Judiciary Committee gathered in Bayonne, one of the two towns damaged by decades of contamination by the oil company.
