(Telecompaper) Netflix is planning an offering of USD 2 billion worth of dollar and euro denominated senior unsecured notes, in two series. Netflix will put the money raised towards general corporate purposes. These may include content acquisitions, production and development, capex, investments, working capital and potential acquisitions and strategic transactions.

Netflix lifts Q3 content investments by 18%, subscriber numbers 22% and revenue 31%

(Telecompaper) Netflix said revenues for the third quarter lifted 31 percent year-on-year to USD 5.24 billion. The company added 517,000 paying customers in the US and 6.255 million international clients in the quarter. The US additions came in below management expectations of 800,000. The board attributed this to a slightly higher than normal churn after the price increase of last year. The second figure was slightly better than the expected 6.20 million.

Netflix agrees distribution deal with Canal Plus in France

(Telecompaper) French broadcaster Canal Plus has announced a deal that will let its pay-TV subscribers bundle Netflix as part of a new package. Customers will be able to add the package for a limited launch price of EUR 15.00 per month to Canal Plus' entry-level pay-TV tariff, which currently costs EUR 19.90/month. The service will become available in France from 15 October, and at a later date in Poland. Canal Plus will also give its subscribers the choice to add Netflix's plans to their existing pay-TV offer on the most recent STB models.
