US home sales slide in April amid listing shortage

Sales of existing U.S. homes slipped in April due mainly to relatively few listings and rising prices, providing evidence of the housing sector's uneven recovery. The National Association of Realtors said Thursday that sales of existing homes fell 3.3 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.04 million.

Greater Hartford Home Sales, Prices Gain For Second Straight Month

A new housing report for Greater Hartford on Tuesday provided more upbeat signs for the spring market, with both sales and prices gaining in April for the second month in a row. The median sale price - where half the sales are above, half below - for a single-family house increased by 2.4 percent, to $210,000 from $205,000 a year earlier, according to the report from the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.

CT Realtors: Home sales up in March

The number of Connecticut homes sold -- and the price they commanded -- rose in March, according to the state association of Realtors. Single-family residential home sales climbed 6.1 percent last month compared with March 2014, the association announced this week, with 2,015 selling in March of this year, compared with 1,899 last year.

Pending US home sales increase in March

More Americans signed contracts to buy homes in March, the third straight month of gains as housing heats up with the start of the spring buying season. The National Association of Realtors says its seasonally adjusted pending home sales index rose 1.1 percent to 108.6 last month.
