SPECIFIC TASKS Preparing and monitoring Research and Development activities in the field of Antennas. Tasks will require the analysis and design of reflector antennas and arrays and the calculation of the interference effects between antennas and the spacecraft structure. Support all antenna development stages from design, analysis up to measurements. Defining, initiating and monitoring RD activities covering both long and shortterm needs, specifically in the field of TTC and PDT antennas Monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends and maintaining stateoftheart expertise in TTC and PDT antennas. REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of antenna Space constraints at RF, mechanical, thermal and environmental levels gained from the handling of Flight Model development or RD development at high TRL level. Knowledge of antenna industrial manufacturing, testing processes, architecture and technologies. Expertise in using antenna modelling tools GRASP8, POS4, CHAMP, HFSS. Experience in TTC and PDT antennas, architectures and technologies as applied to space. Proven industrial experience in the field. Specific qualification requirements The candidate shall have experience of system engineering including Master degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or physics. Experience in TTC and PDT antennas, architectures and technologies as applied to space. Industrial experience is a major asset. A very good working knowledge of spoken and written English is essential. NOTE For candidates with less than 10 years experience, the relevant academic transcripts shall be provided. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
