Paramus-based watch manufacturer Movado today reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $21.5 million, or 92 cents a share, a decline from compared $22.2 million, or to 87 cents, from the same period of a year ago, missing analysts' expectations for per share earnings by 1 cent. Movado, which like other watch makers has struggled as some consumers have begun using their smart-phones or fitness trackers to replace watches, said it believes its new product introductions, including its versions of wi-fi-enabled smart watches, position it to do well during the holiday season.

Movado, HP Partner for 'Bold Motion' Smartwatch

The Swiss watchmaker has partnered with HP for a new collection of timepieces, dubbed Bold Motion, which work with iOS and Android apps and launch this holiday season. They combine Movado's "modern design aesthetic" and HP's technology to notify you of incoming phone calls and text messages, track your daily steps and fitness progress, and, of course, tell the time.

Movado announces twi smart watch collections

Paramus-based watch manufacturer Movado Group, Inc. said Monday it is debuting two smartwatch collections during the holiday season, and collaborating with two technology companies to produce watches that can monitor sleep cycles and fitness activities or notify wearers of incoming phone calls and texts. The company's will use MotionX-365 technology from Fullpower Technologies Inc. for the Museum Sport and Bellina watches.
