Train schedule designed to boost Devens business

Workers commuting from Boston to the Devens region could soon take the train if the MBTA's plan to add early-morning outbound trains becomes a reality. In anticipation of a new earlier train from Boston arriving in Littleton as early as 7:36 a.m., the Devens Enterprise Commission and Montachusett Regional Transit Authority are working on a project to shuttle workers between the station and Devens businesses.

Accel-RF opens new Devens facility

Accel-RF Instruments Corp., a semiconductor equipment maker, recently opened a new permanent East Coast office at the Jackson Technology Park. In a press release, San Diego-based Accel-RF said the new location will be focused on application support as well as equipment-maintenance service, and will allow the company to better serve existing and future customers in the eastern U.S. Accel-RF says its technology decreases product-development time, ensures exceptional reliability and enhances income opportunities.

Former Evergreen plant in Devens sold to Maryland firm

The sale of the 392,000-square-foot Class A manufacturing plant at 112 Barnum Road in the former military base was announced by its owners, Calare Properties, a private, Hudson-based real estate investment firm and operator, and Hackman Capital Partners, LLC, an asset-based investment firm headquartered in Los Angeles. The buyer is  Clinton-based Nypro, now part of Jabil, a Florida-based company, has leased about half of the building for manufacturing use.

Former Evergreen plant at Devens sells for $36 million

It was one of the most publicized debacles of former Governor Deval Patrick: $56 million in tax credits to entice a solar panel manufacturing company to build at Devens, the former Ayer Army base. The 448,000-square-foot building at 112 Barnum Road, was built by Evergreen Solar in 2010.
