This position will be responsible for the spacecraft electrical power subsystem EPS analysis and design for ispaces lunar lander. ispace is a leading microrobotics Japanese company with a subsidiary in the United States and another in Europe. ispaces Hakuto rover won the Google XPRIZE mobility milestone award and is a leading contender for the 20M Grand Prize. ispaces lunar lander is its next step towards prospecting for, mining and utilizing lunar resources to expand human presence in space. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base including an understanding of embedded hardware platforms. The job includes all phases in design, from defining hardware architecture, to implementation and test, to support of spacecraft integration, in collaboration on a daily basis with other team members. Prior experience with high reliability designs is a must. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical power subsystem analysis, including power budgets for all mission phases Define subsystem architecture Specify power supply equipment batteries, solar panels, power conditioning and distribution units Collaborate on equipment selection including trade studies and make or buy decisions for onboard as well as ground support equipment Define and perform verification and validation approach of complete subsystem on testbenches. Support mission analysis and operations activities Support integration, troubleshooting and testing Basic Qualifications Bachelor degree in electrical engineering microwaveRFelectromagnetic related studies, or equivalent Five or more years experience in electrical power subsystem design and development for embedded systems Experience in ground testing activities Experience in integration of electricalelectronic components Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Preferred Experience Masters degree or higher in electrical engineering Ten or more years of experience in electrical power subsystem design, analysis, development and testing for the space industry Experience in selection and procurement of electricalelectronic components Small spacecraft andor lander development, launch vehicle integration and test support Experience in miniaturized electrical power equipment design Experience with electrical ground support equipment
