TransCanada wins contract to build US$500 million natural gas pipeline in Mexico

TransCanada Corp. has won a contract to build, own and operate a US$500-million natural gas pipeline for Mexico's state-owned power company. Calgary-based TransCanada says the Tuxpan-Tula Pipeline will help meet Mexico's increasing demand for natural gas as the country shifts to the cleaner-burning fuel.

U.S. Steel Sees $173 Million Loss in Third Quarter

United States Steel Corp., Pittsburgh, reported a net loss of $173 million for the third quarter, an improvement of 16.4 percent from the same quarter in 2014. Of the quarterly loss, $53 million was attributed to the shutdown of the blast furnace and associated steelmaking operations at Fairfield Works in Alabama.

Sprint Agrees to Pay FTC $2.95 Million to Settle Risk-Based Pricing Rule Charges Under the FCRA

Mobile service providers frequently look at their customers' credit reports and scores to determine the best pricing plans for those customers. But as a recent settlement between Sprint Corporation and the Federal Trade Commission shows, mobile carriers that use customers' credit information to determine service rates may be subject to the FTC's Risk-Based Pricing Rule under the Fair Credit Reporting Act , which requires notice to affected customers that they were approved for service on less favorable terms than other customers with better credit histories.
