FAA announces largest civil penalty it has proposed against a UAS operator for endangering the safety of U.S. airspace. FAA alleges that between March 21, 2012, and Dec. 15, 2014, SkyPan International, Inc. conducted 65 unauthorized operations in some of the most congested airspace and heavily populated cities, violating airspace regulations and various operating rules. Of those, 43 flew in highly restricted New York Class B airspace. These operations were illegal and not without risk.

Encana Corp. has agreed to sell some formerly prized oil and gas assets in Colorado for about US$900 million cash to a partnership headed by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. The lands produce a combination of natural gas, crude oil and other liquids and has reserves estimated at the equivalent of 96.8 million barrels of oil.
