The Georgia Institute of Technology has received a $3.2 million gift from Texas Instruments Incorporated to support the construction of the Texas Instruments Plaza and Maker Space for Georgia Tech's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The plaza and the maker space will be located, respectively, adjacent to and in the Van Leer Building on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta.

Richmond set to receive first $11 million from Chevron benefits agreement next month

The city is poised to get the first infusion of cash from Chevron in June, part of a historic benefits agreement stemming from the refinery's modernization project. Chevron will pay Richmond a total of $90 million over the next decade, not insignificant for a city government facing a $9 million operating shortfall starting next year.
