Job Description What we offer if you join our amazing team Competitive Salary Corporate Benefits Package Exciting relocation package if applicable Company events Main Responsibilities As Backup and Archiving Administrator you will concentrate your activities on the daytoday administration, operation and maintenance of backup and restore solutions and processes Troubleshooting in accordance with the policies in place Perform maintenance of the related infrastructure Support the setup of the failover systems dedicated to the remote datacenter and the upcoming disaster recovery project Perform maintenance and support of the existing Veritas NetBackup and Enterprise Vault Infrastructure Perform maintenance and support of the existing Veritas Desktop and Laptop Infrastructure Perform maintenance and support on the Tape Library including TLO6TLO7 Perform upgrades on Opscenter, NetBackup, DLO EV environment Support developing, managing and testing backup and recovery plans of the servers, server functions and data Installation of related hardware in the data center and setup network and storage Write technical documentation Provisioning of storage for serves or file shares Management of vSphere virtual infrastructure. See below what experience or knowledge you should bring Veritas Net Backup, Veritas Enterprise Vault Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option DLO EMC2 and NetApp storage infrastructure VMware vSphere virtualization infrastructure Different flavours of linux OS with majority of CentOS Handling planning, installation and provisioning of SAN, NAS and DAS Storage environments and tiering Understanding of backup requirements for different databases Exchange, Oracle, My SQL, MS SQL, Db2 virtualized environments Translating functional business backup requirements into technical policies Deep knowledge of backup and archiving concepts including retention periods, disk vs. tape backup and offside storage Understanding and performing operational management tasks of a virtualized infrastructure Writing understandable end user and technical documentation. SPECIFIC TASKS Perform services at ESA Kourou office in support of STSEMK and STSEMC with regards to following CSG operational contracts status, ensuring the validity of processes carried out as described in operational contracts, and helping to improve the industrial processes, with regards to exploitation related activities. Conferring with stakeholders about specifications, industrial capacities and capabilities, and status of projects. Reviewing schedules, process flows, etc. to understand methods and activities in operations, integration and services, and how to improve efficiency and eliminate waste. Understanding the ways industrial systems at the CSG interact and how changes in conditions operations, launch rate, etc. can affect outcomes. Proposing industrial, process, and supply chain improvements. Designing control systems to minimise and resolve process and project issues. Coordinating with others internally and externally to assess the above and to create and implement changes. Contributing to measures and the improvement of database structure and functionalities. Helping to create processes methods to gather supplier contract and process activity data and propose and follow KPIs. Writing and establishment of report elements which will be directly usable in the ESA reporting system such as proposals and progress reports. SPECIFIC COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS Degree qualification, preferably masters in an engineering or related subject. Lean andor six sigma training would be an advantage. Senior level of technical writing skills and command of the French and English languages both written and spoken. Experience highly developed capability in complex information data mining, analysis and reporting. A knowledge of the CSG and its functioning will be considered an important asset. Able to be discreet about confidential data. High degree of computer literacy MSOffice products particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Knowledge of relational database concepts will be considered an asset. Contract and or supply chain management would be an asset. Relevant experience in MA, airport operations, andor industrial processes would be an asset.
