Senior Software Engineer Long Term Archive Sentinel3 mf Ref.Nr. 158521 The Mission Our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, is preparing for the operations of the Copernicus Sentinel3 mission. The mission is to measure seasurface topography, sea and landsurface temperature and ocean and landsurface colour with highend accuracy and reliability in support of ocean forecasting systems, and for environmental and climate monitoring. The first of two Sentinel3 spacecraft is planned to be launched in mid2015. The Challenge We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide support to work on site at our customer, EUMETSAT, located in Darmstadt, Germany in support of EUMETSATs Sentinel3 Long Term Archive Services. The primary tasks and responsibilities of the Long Term Archive Software Engineer are Provide support to the development, maintenance and evolutions of the Data Services systems, with special focus on the Sentinel3 Long Term Archive Services Gather requirements, design, implementation, testing, configuration, maintenance of documentation and 2nd line support for EUMETSAT Long Term Archive developed software, with focus on the Sentinel3 mission and related software, throughout the entire software life cycle including review of similar software This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in May 2015. Interviews for the position are planned between 9th and 20th March. Your Qualifications In addition to having a university degree or equivalent, you will have a minimum of 5 year experience in the following mandatory areas Provision of first and second line maintenance support for operational systems Software engineering, with extensive experience in designing and developing software components and applications in the Java and CC programming language under UnixLinux using Object Oriented approach Software development, verificationvalidation and maintenance, using a formal life cycle Oracle JDBC and SQL XML, XML Schema and XSLT technologies Practical knowledge of as many as possible of the following will be an advantage Operations and maintenance of long term archive software and systems in a 247 operational environment Software development using the Google Web Toolkit GWT Meteorological Data Format Conversion netCDF Tomcat Application server development Spatial Solutions Oracle Locator, PostgresPostgis Software Building and Package management Terma offers At Terma, we consider skilled employees, enthusiasm and job satisfaction as the very foundation of our success and as a prerequisite for the development of the bestinclass solutions that Terma provides.
