Alaska Communications System Group, Inc. and General Communication, Inc. have signed definitive agreements for Alaska Communications to sell its wireless subscriber base and its 33 percent interest in its partnership in the Alaska Wireless Network, LLC to GCI for $300 million. GCI will assume Alaska Communications' wireless subscriber base.

The trainee will be expected to carry out the following duties under supervision Drafting of articles for GSA internal and external communication materials Supporting the Agencys presence in key social media channels Inhouse desktop publishing and graphic design Creation of a GSA presentation database Creation of engaging presentation material for the agency using Prezi Creation and implementation of esurveys to gather feedback following GSA events Support the creation of targeted sector pressmedia lists and support in the development of relevant content based on key media editorial calendars 2.The admission and selection criteria The traineeship is open to applicants who have not previously undertaken a traineeship at the GSA and who meet the following requirements A. Admission criteria Nationality of any Member State of the European Union and of Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein parties to the EEA Agreement A recognized higher education degree university education or equivalent, evidencing completion of a full cycle of study, or in the case of trainees who are at the end of their studies, an official attestation from their university or school stating the marks obtained Some initial experience in oneof the areas of work of the Agency obtained either through specialization as part of theapplicants studies for a university degree,a dissertation or other research project conducted as part of their studies or in some other manner or through professional experience or a previous traineeship Thorough knowledge of English, both spoken and written and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union A clean criminal record. B. Selection criteria Experience of work or study in the area of Communications Working knowledge of HTML and webmarketing strategies Knowledge of the workings of the EU institutions Good knowledge of IT applications. 3.Application Procedure Candidates must submit theirapplication electronically. Their application has tobe composed of a duly signed CV Europassformat 1 in English and a motivation letter maximum one page. Lockheed Martin has completed thermal vacuum testing on the fourth satellite scheduled to launch and join the U.S. Navy’s Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) constellation. This milestone comes just weeks after the company shipped the third MUOS satellite to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in anticipation of its January launch.
