Short-seller Carson Block just dropped a blistering letter accusing a company of corrupt payments
2015-10-15 19:34:45| Telecom - Topix.net
We are short the securities of TeliaSonera because we believe information that is being withheld from investors, along with the current board and management's actions, will significantly impact the company's shares and credit profile. While TeliaSonera has provided some transparency into its misdeeds in Uzbekistan, it has not made public the likelihood that the company's other Eurasian and Nepal operations suffer from similar problems, and on a massive scale.

Over a third of Dutch are interested in mobile payments
2015-10-09 14:02:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Over a third (36%) of Dutch consumers find the idea of using mobile payment options very interesting, according to a Telecompaper Consumer Panel study for September. The number of Dutch people who actually use mobile payments is still only 3 percent. Interest has grown, if slowly. In March, 31 percent of Dutch found the option interesting, compared. The number of people who do not find mobile payment options interesting fell in the same period, to 38 percent in September from 44 percent in March. Telecompaper also looked at the willingness people might have to activate a mobile payments system, via NFC technology, for example instance. About half said they would download a free app while a third would be prepared to trade in their Sim card for a free Sim suitable for NFC payments. Some were ready to pay up to EUR 5 for a payment service, by buying a Sim card (11%) or through a paid app (9%). Compared to March however, willingness to pay has decreased somewhat.
