Delta Air Lines Inc. will cut its three daily nonstop flights between Memphis International Airport and Chicago at the end of December. Atlanta-based Delta cited a pilot staffing shortage as the reason for cutting the flights to O'Hare International Airport, each of which seated 50, according to a release Friday from the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority.

Republic Airways to Expand Partnership with Delta Air Lines

Republic Airways Holdings Inc. announced today that it has reached an amendment to its Capacity Purchase Agreement with Delta Air Lines to operate nine additional 69-seat E170 aircraft. The aircraft are scheduled to be placed into service between the 3rd quarter of 2015 and the 2nd quarter of 2016 and will operate for a term of six years per aircraft.

Delta projects $5 billion in pretax income next year

Delta Air Lines on Thursday projected its pretax income will jump 11 percent to $5 billion next year, as the airline expects to benefit from lower fuel prices and increasing capacity. As part of its investor-day presentation, Atlanta-based Delta said low fuel prices could result in a $1.7 billion benefit for the company next year.
