(Telecompaper) The Millennial Survey conducted by Telefonica and which mapped the behaviour of 6,700 young people around the world in relation to political, economic and innovative positions has revealed that 78 percent of those polled in Brazil used a smartphone and 42 percent said they use a tablet. The numbers are comparable to those recorded in Western Europe and the US (84%-40% and 79%-56%, respectively) and show a significant increase compared with the same survey last year.

BEIRUT: New car sales in Lebanon stood at 3,454 vehicles during the month of September 2014, compared to 3,353 vehicles in August and 2,592 vehicles in September of last year, as reported by Credit Libanais Market Watch published by the Economic Research Unit of Credit Libanais Group. According to the Automobile Importers' Association , new car sales rose by 8.31 percent year-on-year to 28,811 cars as of the end of the first nine months of 2014, up from 26,601 vehicles during that same period a year earlier.

Ford says September China auto sales dipped 0.2 percent year-on-year

Ford's sales in the first nine months of the year totaled 813,412 vehicles, up 26 percent from the same period a year earlier, the U.S. carmaker said on Friday. Ford plans to launch its premium Lincoln brand in China this year, with plans to open eight Lincoln retail outlets in seven Chinese cities starting in October.

Claims for compensation from GM for faulty switch rise 30 percent

The number of claims of injury and death linked to a faulty ignition switch in General Motors Co cars rose 30 percent last week to 1,130, according to a report on Monday from the lawyer overseeing a program set up to compensate accident victims. Since Aug. 1, claims related to 24 deaths and 16 injuries have been deemed eligible for compensation by the program, which is being overseen by lawyer Kenneth Feinberg.
