Huawei no longer allowed to pre-install Facebook apps on its smartphones

(Telecompaper) Facebook said it will no longer allow its apps to get pre-installed on Huawei phones, Facebook told Reuters reported. Customers who already have Huawei phones will still be able to use Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagramm apps and receive updates. People will still be able to download the apps from the Google Playstore. That said, future versions of Huawei phones will not have access to the store and its apps unless the US government reverses its ban on the company.

(Telecompaper) MediaTek has unveiled at Computex its first multi-mode 5G chipset, designed to power the first wave of high-end 5G smartphones. The 7nm SoC uses the MediaTek Helio M70 5G modem, Arm's new Cortex-A77 CPU and Mali-G77 GPU, and MediaTek's most advanced AI processing unit to meet the power and performance demands of 5G.

The company issued a statement after several market researchers suggested the company saw a big slump in sales in Q1. Xiaomi said that information is "inaccurate and unfair, and deviates from our actual performance".
