Dutch Apps Market is a quarterly report that looks at mobile apps development in the Dutch market. The report focuses on apps for communication, instant messaging and social networking. Apps included are: ChatON, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Facetime, Google+, GoogleTalk, Hangouts, iMessage, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Skype, Twitter, Viber and WhatsApp. It provides insight on download behaviour during last three months, which kind of Apps are downloaded and which of the mentioned Apps are installed on smartphones. It also gives insight in actual use of mentioned apps and appreciation from the users. Split is given for market, provider (Hi, KPN, T-Mobile, and Vodafone), age, gender, pre/postpaid, type of OS (iOS, Android and other) and for Android also a split on handset brand (HTC or Samsung). This report is based on the continuous online survey conducted by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel over the past twelve months. Every quarter at least 7,500 consumers are asked about their use of mobile telephony, broadband connections, fixed telephony and TV, including details on their current situation, purchasing habits, usage and churn. This report looks at real-life data (3G/Wi-Fi) usage on smartphones of almost 1,000 consumers and gives insight on how much MB is used on average per month on mobile networks and Wifi, split for: Operating system iOS and Android (All, High-end phones, Low-end phones), Mobile provider (KPN, Hi, T-Mobile and Vodafone). The report also looks at a number of communication and messaging Apps and provides insight on penetration, average number of minutes of use per month and average number of sessions per month. The following Apps are included in the report: WhatsApp, Facebook, FB Messenger, Twitter, Skype, Snapchat, Google+, Viber, Instagram, Telegram. For this report we use our own tp:mobiledatatracker soure. Majority of Dutch interested in family mobile plans

(Telecompaper) A small majority of Dutch consumers are interested in a family mobile plan, where each family member can use the same bundle of services, according to research by Telecompaper in June. Such plans are not yet available in the Netherlands, and the operators said last year that they had no plans to introduce them. Nevertheless, 58 percent of the Dutch say they're interested in a family plan. This is down from 65 percent a year ago. In last year's survey, almost a quarter (23%) of the Dutch said they were interested in a family plan if it ended up cheaper than the combined mobile costs of their household. This condition fell to 18 percent in the latest research. Beside cost issues, fewer people were concerned about getting a new phone under a family plan (from 10 to 5%). Maintaining the same phone number (16%) and the possibility of setting up spending limits for children (9%) saw the same level of response.
