Dutch broadband market improves to small growth in Q3, led by cable

2017-12-04 08:12:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) The Dutch market for fixed broadband internet experienced minimal growth in the third quarter. The number of connections rose 0.3 percent year-on-year to 7.366 million, according to the latest market study from Telecompaper, which said this was no small feat on such a saturated market and after growth of just 0.1 percent in the second quarter. The number of cable and fibre-optic connections increased enough to compensate for the continuing decline at DSL. Telecompaper is forecasting 1 percent growth for the full year, with KPN approaching Ziggo in terms of market share.

Against the second quarter, the decline amounted to 2.8 percent. Compared to the previous quarters, there are clear signs of a deterioration in the mobile market, according to Telecompaper's most recent Dutch Mobile Operators quarterly report.
